It wants to run in the background & just exiting from the taskbar may not stop some of that processor usage.SummaryIf a user with limited or challenged cognitive skills like me needs to start learning which programs aren't necessary, and that can slow or freeze even moderately fast systems...If a person like that wants to start culling some of the chaff from their system it's worth using to learn to do that. What's most important IMHO is that Soluto is going to cause a low-skilled user to eventually face challenges in getting it uninstalled, and as I said Soluto itself will use quite a little chunk of processor speed to run in the background. Other freeware like SlimComputer & even reading about how skilled users analyze what a huge amount of processes run in the background & that it's good to know something about...Looking at Sysinternals and/or Hijack This will help most users start to see the wood for the trees. One more thing people need to consider: IMHO using any program not directly linked to the programmers updating the OS on your computer would, one would think, cause a greater chance of corrupting this or that Windows file it needs to interface with. Systems like mine that have a few corrupt files seem to run fine, but for how long the system remains stable is why I always know I'll occasionally have to reinstall a saved image of the system or even do a complete factory reinstall of the OS.Reply to this review

It was generally over 3 minutes. Sometimes programs didn't load at all. I scanned it several times for malware and viruses, and kept getting a clean report. I degragged and removed some programs I was no longer using, disconnected Magic Jack and other things, but nothing helped. I then downloaded Bootlog XP, which analyzed the boot record, but gave me no clue about what to fix. The boot log was pages and pages long, but without an informed eye on it (which I don't have), it meant nothing. So then I thought I'd try Soluto. At first I had trouble loading it, but I followed the directions on their website to fix one of the net frameworks (I think that's what it's called - their website gives a detailed description of how to do this). Then I also noticed that Soluto was listed as "not verified" when I checked it through Process Explorer (go to Properties, then Image, then click on Verify. If you don't have Sysinternals Process Explorer, I highly recommend it.) After this, Soluto loaded fine. But I was disappointed to see that although it confirmed the slow 3+ minute boot, it only had a few suggestions of programs to suspend, and suspending or removing them was supposed to save me just a few seconds of boot time. I went ahead and suspended them anyway, and Lo & Behold, my computer is now loading 1+ minute faster! I would have liked it if there was more explanation of what my problem was, however since it solved it, that's fine.Reply to this review
