PCMedik

by: CNET staff on March 31, 2009

PCMedik is a system optimization tool that promises to improve your system's speed and performance. Not only does it lack important details, but it's the exact same program found under another title, PCHeal--although it comes from a different publisher.

The program's user interface is way too simple for what it aims to do. It requires simply selecting your operating system and processor types from drop-down menus. A slidebar lets you adjust the repair settings, but the offerings are vague and range from "Heal" to "Heal and Boost." Once the Go button is clicked, the program appears to go to work, repairing your system. Nowhere does the program list details of its findings and repairs. It would have been nice to have the option of seeing a report and manually selecting the repairs we wanted to include. On top of that, once the program completed its job, we found no discernible difference in our computer's performance.

A Help file is included with the program, but it didn't change the fact that the program lacked important details and settings options. Just like its twin, PCHeal, we recommend that you skip PCMedik and keep looking for a more comprehensive system-optimization tool that doesn't leave you in the dark about what it's doing to your system.

window.addEvent('domready', function() { $$('div[id^="universalVideo"]').set('styles', { clear: 'none', overflow: 'hidden' }); });

PCMedik set the standard for PC optimizing software. It increases overall speed and squeezes out every last bit of performance your computer is capable of. PCMedik also locates and repairs problems with software and hardware incompatibilities which lead to computer performance issues. It is, fully compliant with all versions of Microsoft Windows and adjusts itself to your computer specifications. PCMedik scans your computer for common problems and fixes them, it then makes several permanent changes to Windows so your computer feels like it is new once again.

What's new in this version: Version 6.3.18.2013 added better Windows version detection within the installer.

March 27, 2012  |   By philw19642002

Version: PCMedik 6.3.26.2012

Pros

I really could not tell much of a difference.

Cons

Like I mentioned in Pros I really didn't see much of a difference in using it.

Summary

Overall I did not see a change in my PCs performance after using PC Medik. I guess If I would have had the purchased download I might could have but did not see the need to do so!

"Would not recommend their products"

May 26, 2009  |   By sankojam

Version: PCMedik 6.5.25.2009

Pros

Don't like at all.

Cons

Right after downloading and installing the trial version I received a message that I had a pirated copy and that I was reported. I don't steal and resent the implication that I do.

Please warn others that this could happen to them also.

"It helps performance on older pcs."

September 5, 2007  |   By goldengreeke

Version: PCMedik 6.9.3.2007

Pros

All your apps work pretty well on pc's with 512 MB of memory or less. I have a test pc like that, which I never upgraded, and all five of your products that I have tried helped performance quite a bit,(GameGain, PcBoost, PcMedik, SuperRam, and Throttle). I have a higher end pc with two gigs of memory, and your products did nothing that I could notice, however. Why not combine all your products into one super application, raise the price, and I think you would have a product with a force to be reckened with. I like your free trial, and I am happy they work with Vista.

"great proggie"

November 28, 2005  |   By newsguy09

Version: PCMedik 6.10.3

Pros

This is a great easy to use proggie. I was having a lot of problems with internet explorer downloading malware and this proggie fixed it nicely. I've notice a little improvement but it's definately great for fixing problems and securing a computer the easy way.

Cons

too simple of an interface with no options
