SuperRam

by: CNET staff on April 23, 2009

SuperRam employs various tests and diagnostics to optimize your system's performance. While it offered us a quick glimpse into our memory and processor space, we found no noticeable difference in our computer's performance.

The user interface is very easy to understand. All of your system's process and memory space is laid out for you. A task menu resides on the left side of the window, but we also noticed that the same task commands reside underneath the RAM pie graph. On our first go-around, we used the program's Memory Benchmark test to check our computer's performance. A score of 0 to 10 is used, and the higher the score, supposedly the faster the memory. Our final score was a low number, so using the slidebars featured under the Memory Performance feature, we made adjustments to free up more memory. A subsequent test revealed the same low score and we didn't notice any change in our computer's performance.

A tech support link and Help menu is included through the user interface, and with a 30-day trial, you have more than enough time to learn the program's ins and outs. We liked being able to see our memory and processor space displayed in one place, but for what little change we saw in our computer's performance, the program is certainly not worth the price.

window.addEvent('domready', function() { $$('div[id^="universalVideo"]').set('styles', { clear: 'none', overflow: 'hidden' }); });

SuperRam increases computer performance by freeing wasted memory back to your computer. By optimizing memory utilization your computer will operate at stable speeds and never run out of memory. SuperRam constantly runs in the background on your computer and determines when the memory on your computer is getting to a low threshold. Once it reaches this threshold it immediately frees memory back to the computer and makes programs run faster since they have access to physical memory.

What's new in this version: Version 6.3.18.2013 added better Windows version detection within the installer.

"Best Ram Defrag available!"

January 23, 2010  |

Version: SuperRam 6.1.18.2010

Pros

This Ram Defrag program is the best! I've been able to recover & release more than 1GB of Ram which is outstanding!

Cons

None at all

Summary

SuperRam allows you take control of your computer's memory, how physical memory is allocated and help determine the performance of your computer system. Windows routinely allocates memory to applications, games and system processes; over time the memory becomes completely used handling all of these tasks.

With SuperRam, memory management is tuned to maintain computer stability but a greater emphasis is placed on computer performance. Once installed SuperRam begins to monitor the total amount of memory your computer has installed, it also monitors when your computer reaches a threshold of memory to maintain, when that threshold is reached SuperRam immediately will release all memory that it determines can be released on the computer system back to Windows.

When SuperRam is installed any new application, program or game that is opened will use physical memory installed on the computer and placing applications that you opened previously to use virtual memory. This allows software to run with an emphasis on performance when performance is needed; such as when playing games, editing photos/videos, using processor and memory intensive applications.

"NOT WORTH TIME NEEDED TO DOWNLOAD"

May 26, 2009  |   By jammer066

Version: SuperRam 6.5.25.2009

Pros

it does free up memory

Cons

slows computer-tried several settings-got same results-made no different in speed of memory or computer.

Summary

not worth the price-I have programs to free up memory they don't slow my computer down. My guess-only works if you buy it, no chance of that. If you have to pay for a program to get it to work, it's not worth the price. That's what the free trail is for, to see if it works.

"Helps a little on older computers"

September 5, 2007  |   By goldengreeke

Version: SuperRam 5.9.3.2007

Pros

All your apps work pretty well on pc's with 512 MB of memory or less. I have a test pc like that, which I never upgraded, and all five of your products that I have tried helped performance quite a bit,(GameGain, PcBoost, PcMedik, SuperRam, and Throttle). I have a higher end pc with two gigs of memory, and your products did nothing that I could notice, however. Why not combine all your products into one super application, raise the price, and I think you would have a product with a force to be reckened with. I like your free trial, and I am happy they work with Vista.
