"Too much setup needed"

Pros

I'm sure if I had the time to set it up with all the fields and everything it would be fine.

Cons

I thought it would be ready to use, not something I would have to take hours to set up. I can use Access if I want to create the db myself. i wanted something ready to go.

"Powerful pet sitting software for a shoestring budget."

Pros

Easy to use, and the lack of pre-set fields in the client/pet information windows allows you to creatively customize. I have pet photos and all pertinent client information in my own layout. Effective search functions.

Cons

The icon images for pet breeds are wonderfully detailed, but very lacking in scope. 14 dog breed images, 1 cat image, and 50+ birds? Why do you need lemurs, bison, bear, and gorilla icons for a pet sitting business? I just want more dogs & cats!

Summary

For the cost you can't go wrong. With slightly over fifty clients I find the software to be very useful in keeping track of past jobs and pertinent information. It's fairly simplistic in execution, but this means a lack of constraint from another designer's template. You have a scrolling client list, and you can add sub-items (pets) to each client item. Each item and sub-item has its own information window, a rich text format that allows you to create your own layout, which is a huge plus for me. The calendar is nice, but setting up events can be confusing at first. Software isn't completely bug-free, but short of my own excel templates I have successfully depended on the program to keep all of my pet sitting straight. I frequently recommend this program to peers. While I would like more detailed documentation in the updates, I did find the customer support to be very helpful on the rare occasions that I needed it. Bottom line... functional, customizable pet sitting software that doesn't cost $500.
