When you delete a device in Indigo, you get a popup message that this will delete all links associated with the device as well. Not true. All the links stay there and now become non-editable "unknown devices" that interfere with proper operation. Then, the only way to remove those links is to do a factory reset of each and every Insteon device that includes those links.
And just in case this isn't enough to discourage you from using this technology, I bought a new lamp dimmer to replace yet another failed one, and got the error message that I now have to pay to upgrade my version of Indigo. After doing so, I then got another error message that I had to upgrade my hardware as well, so it's still not working.
This software and hardware remains bug-ridden and sloppy and extremely time-consuming. Really tired of giving you people the benefit of the doubt, because you just don't live up to any of the claims you make for ease of use or functionality. Watch your back, because your competitors will quickly trample you in this day and age.

As one example, I use AppleScript to query my weather station for temperature and rainfall, then make adjustments to the amount I water the lawn.Customer support from Perceptive Automation is also very good.
ConsThe Pro version is a bit expensive.Reply to this review Was this review helpful? It is very cool & rock solid. The Indigo iPhone app is also a must.Reply to this review Was this review helpful? Ive used this for two years with all my insteon switches at home. Version progress is slow and steady (as anything that is done by a small or one man team is)
The developer answers almost all posts on his forums (and there are a lot) and it very helpful.
I highly recommend this product. It is the cornerstone of my home automation system.
I have to say this software is the best, it just darn works!
OK price is a little high BUT the support alone is worth that, Matt posts a reply to my questions within hours. I am a BIG fan of this software and would recommend it to anyone. Updates are regular with new futures added often.Reply to this review Was this review helpful? I have to agree with the other posts here about the cost. I was waiting for 2.0 to become available to pay the $90 (reluctantly). $200 is way out of the range I would be willing to pay for a product like this.
I guess this could be a positive if it encourages others to develope applications with similar functionality.
Has anyone had success with thier intel macs running the FREE windows software that comes with thier controllers with Parallels?

If you make the program look jazzy that's fine. The most successful small software programmers/sellers keep the price affordable so when most hard working people see the price they say, "I can afford that", I will paypal or whatever. Graphic Converter is one of the best programs and success stories and he did it by selling volume. If you sold this program for 30.00 you would get 100s of new customers right away. You will never build up a customer base with the price at 89.95, and now you want to charge 200.00? I would pay 30.00 for the program and IM sure many other people feel the same way. Graphic Converter has made the big money because when people see the price they buy it right away. Not the case here...Reply to this review Was this review helpful? The ability to easily create a control page (a web page that controls everything that you can access from any browser) is brilliant. One of the few Mac software products that I can't do without. I know that this is only a beta version, but I would like to see the final version make it a bit easier to integrate video in to the control page. Nonetheless, this is the by far the best Home Automation software that I have seen so far ... and I have used most of them.Reply to this review Was this review helpful?
