ESF Database Migration Toolkit Standard Edition transfers data across various database and file systems. It can directly connect to MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, FireBird or InterBase, Access, Excel, Visual Foxpro, SQLite, Paradox, Lotus, dBase, Text, and other formats, and transfer data (including Index, Primary Key, Foreign Key, BLOB, CLOB, and MEMO) between these formats (SQL Server to MySQL, MySQL to Excel). The program offers a simple step-by-step wizard, that allows you to connect to the source database, select the tables, and then transfer and copy them to the destination.

Good for $100"October 26, 2011 | By jsh999 Version: ESF Database Migration Toolkit Standard Edition 7.2.05ProsLots of datasources. It works pretty good for my Oracle-to-Postgres.ConsOracle to Postgres generally good but BLOB to bytea doesn't work....causes tool to hang. Not sure what other gotchas I will hit when using binary or esoteric data types.Interface is "small" give me a maximized window with a menu.
No basic SQL translation although that would be a pretty good tool.
SummaryLooks decent for a data ETL tool. Lots of datsources and trial run with Oracle/SQL Server/Postgres not bad. if these guys keep working on this, could be great. Not many other tools that do postgres and all the other datasources. 3 things to make it a killer app. 1. Clean up the binary data types and make sure other data types work well (they seem too), 2. Add SQL translation (like for Views and maybe Table Triggers) and its a killer app. 3. Make the interface bigger...felt like I was working in a tunnel :)Updated on Oct 27, 2011
UPDATE: Reported my bug with Oracle-2-Postgres BLOB-2-Bytea hang... they got back with me immediately....gave them data and circumstances. They discovered the bug (Null BLOBs) and created a point release patch version for me....this all in less than 24 hours. So good stuff! Still they need to add window sizability, a menu, ability to save migration "Profile/Settings" for later use and it will be a fuller product...but lots of great potential here and great service!
