DBeaver (32-Bit)

5.0 stars

"Best sql client I've used. Loved it more than the rest"

February 1, 2012  |   By wdchin

Version: DBeaver (32-Bit) 1.5

Pros

Powerful, nice sql format, not memory hug. It offers me connection to oracle thin, mysql, sybase and many more. The fact that it is free. I loved it more than toad, mysql workbench and dbvisualizer. It connects to oracle thin, sybase, mysql like a charm.

Cons

Takes a little getting used to.

Summary

This is great tool to connect to your db. If you don't like the limitation of the free versions of the commercial ones, this is great alternative.

"Very unstable nightmare"

March 9, 2009  |   By spartain

Version: ProgDVB (32-bit) 6.04.01

Pros

Standard version is free. Very adaptable design.

Cons

Appallingly unstable. No Help files.

Summary

(Win XP Pro, SP2, P4 2ghz) This ProgDVB comes from Russia. I've used the previous version 5, which was very hit and miss, but this version 6 is just appalling. Constant crashes while I was trying to set it up for my Pinnacle PCTV DVB-T PCI TV card. Even when I managed to set it up and gather all my local DVB tv and radio stations, when I clicked on certain ones, some module inexplicably crashed, and after that the same thing happened with every channel I selected. A program restart was required to get it going again but the same problems re-occurred. This happened even after an uninstall, registry clear-out with CCleaner, and a reinstall. Also, It really needs a setup wizard to get it going for the un-initiated, and even the initiated who might forget. I suggested this to them via their website forum a long time ago but nothing came of it. Unfortunately, there is an element of techno-snobbery on the forum among many other users, they often like to talk in techno-babble wherever possible just to show how clever they are, which can often waste time in getting intelligible answers. Every time you want to find some info about features, you have to go searching through the website and forums. Very, very poor.

Version: ProgDVB (32-bit) 1

Pros

-

Cons

Version 4.88.4 of this freeware somehow WRECKED my new Hauppauge HVR-3000 card !!!!!!! On DVB-T device it did not work. When I tried to start the DVB-S device inside the Options the program hung and could not be terminated by the task manager. After this, even the Hauppauge Software WinTV did not display anything anymore!

I tried several restarts with disconnecting the power cable, unpugged the card from PCI bus, re-installed the drivers, restored a Windows-backup-image from before I installed the card the first time and re-installed the drivers & software again - no sucess. The card IS broken!!! I have to send it back now!!!

"Free To Air digitial TV to your computer"

October 24, 2007  |   By Anysia

Version: ProgDVB (32-bit) 1

Pros

Easy to set up, scans and lists channels quickly and neatly. TV screen mode is adjustable so you can go either full screen or make a small one if you have to do something else. Picture is amazingly clear, and the audio is great. Easily configurable,

Cons

When you try to watch HD TV, you keep getting "Pin Error. Elecard_Audio_Decoder.In error no matter which setting you use. Will keep looking for a solution to it. There have been a few solutions posted, but the solutions cause other problems.

"Works fine (even in VMWare Fusion on a Mac)"

January 10, 2012  |   By JayScott

Version: TortoiseSVN (32-bit) 1.7.3

Pros

Shows what happened in Subversion in a much easier-to-understand (and often graphical) format.

Cons

Not the easiest to figure out how to see what you want to.

Summary

Someone else complained it didn't work in VMWare. I'm using it on OS-X Snow Leopard with VMWare Fusion 3.0 and XP Pro, and it works just fine installed on XP Pro; no problems at all.

February 27, 2008  |   By brianherbert

Version: TortoiseSVN (32-bit) 1.4.7.11792

Pros

TortoiseSVN is pretty easy to use. There are plenty of options in the context menu.

Cons

There are processes that seem to run at random times (even when I'm not using SVN) which take up a lot of system resources.

"Best videoconverter I know of"

December 17, 2012  |   By bombastique

Version: Hybrid Portable (32-bit) 2012.11.23.1

Pros

- default settings are OK, so you don't have to adjust anything if you don't know very much about video conversion
- you can tweak the options 'till you drop!
- eventhough there are many options to choose from, you won't loose track of settings because the interface is simple but very efficient
- convert batches (queue several conversions)
- I like the fact that it can use "sox" (high quality commandline audioconvertor) for audioconversion
- can use (almost) any type of video for input

Cons

- sure it's the best converter ever... but what has it done for world peace...?

Summary

I absolutely hate writing reviews, but this tool just deserves the credit.
I truly think that it's the best conversion tool out there.
