Pros

It is very easy to use. Seeing its friendly interface, I knew the pleasure of enjoying my favorite Blu-ray disc was not far from me, and it did not let me down. It is so great. The quality of the scene is the best I've never seen before. And it can also play other formats of video, and the high definition is beyond my thought. Pretty good.

Cons

As a Hispanic-American, I hope the developer can add a Spanish version.

Summary

Compared with other Blu-disc I've used, it is really the best one. Plasant purchasing experience.

VLC Media Player for Mac is the all-around reliable, works-out-of-the-box media player that you might never have heard of, though that's no reflection on the app, itself.

We installed the latest update for VLC Media Player for Mac on our test machine without problems. We quickly downloaded the DMG, and then copied VLC to Applications, overwriting our previous installed version. As longtime users of this software, we were happy to see that not much has changed. The interface remained the same, with standard buttons for playback, forward, and back. Advanced controls are available for more options, as well. The player supports a wide variety of audio and video formats, natively, meaning no forced installation of third-party codecs to make it work is needed. We tested VLC Media Player for Mac out on a variety of video files such as MOV, MP4, MKV, and AVI, and had no problems viewing any of them. In addition to playing just about every type of media you can feed it, this player also features some tools for editing and recording media. We boosted saturation, hue, and contrast during playback of a video until the color was more to our liking. We were also able to record a video stream, as it came in live, from over the Internet. There are many more features, but for the majority ease of playback is reason enough to use this player.

VLC Media Player for Mac has been the media player of choice for many for a long time, even if it doesn't have the name recognition of other media players. It's versatile, powerful, and easy to use, eliminating video compatibility issues that often plague one player or another.

Adobe's Shockwave Player is a free program that displays multimedia content created with Adobe Director. Shockwave Player is installed on hundreds of millions of computers worldwide. With it, you can display advanced Web content such as video and games, presentations, advertising, and interactive materials. This free plug-in is compatible with most major Web browsers.

We downloaded and installed Shockwave Player. The installation wizard included an optional download of an unrelated program, but we declined it, and Shockwave Player installed normally. This simple plug-in is self-contained and requires no settings or options, though you can see if it's been installed and which version from your browser's plug-in manager. But how do you know it's even working? Adobe has the answer with its Test Adobe Shockwave Player tool. When you can see the animation displayed in the Web-based tool's box, your installation is complete.

When our installation was finished, we were able to click Create, to try Adobe Director; See, to access the Director and Shockwave Player Content Showcase; or About, to learn more about Shockwave Player. We clicked About to visit the plug-in's product page, which offers FAQs, licensing information, support and training, and other information, including samples of Director-created content to try in our Shockwave Player installation.

We browsed back and opened the content showcase, which offered many links to game developers and multimedia content providers that use Director and Shockwave Player. Some of the sample content we viewed tried to install toolbars and other unneeded software, so be aware.

There's no comparison between using Shockwave Player to display Director-created content and not using it, because you can't; like Flash, you need the plug-in to see the content. By the way, Shockwave Player displays content created with Adobe Director, while Flash Player displays content created with Adobe Flash Professional. While the content is similar, Director-created content is typically more performance-intensive and focused on gaming, 3D, and online entertainment, while Flash is more suitable for Web applications, online advertising, and animations.

Shockwave Player is a Web standard for powerful multimedia playback. The Shockwave Player allows you to view interactive Web content like games, business presentations, entertainment, and advertisements from your Web browser.

If "Adv. Option / Interface - 'On Media / DVD Play'" was set to 'Zoom mode' or 'Fullscreen mode' and the player window was minimized, the player window was restored and set to fullscreen each time a new media was loaded. Now this action only takes place if the player window is not minimized.

Fixes:
Fixed switching to fullscreen on a secondary monitor with Windows XP, which stopped working in version 8.
Fixed several small bugs related to how Zoom Player is minimized and restored.
JPEG images with EXIF rotation mode "6" were not rotated correctly.
The '"Derived" mode Automatically Adjusts Aspect Ratio for badly encoded content' setting did not adjust for dynamically changing aspect ratios. This was especially bad with MadVR which throws a Aspect Ratio change event every time.
ID3 v2.2 tags with embedded images were not parsed correctly, causing the embedded image not to display.

Pop-up OSD messages would not appear if MadVR OSD services was used with a fullscreen navigation interface visible.
MadVR now show the first frame in the video when pressing stop.
The Pop-Up OSD (Play/Pause/etc) would stick on-screen when using MadVR as the video renderer and tabbing away from Zoom Player.
If 'On Playlist Complete' is set to 'Do Nothing' and MadVR is used as the video renderer, the fullscreen OSD interface would stop updating when the video finished playing.
Playing MP3 files with embedded album art created by Samsung Kies could crash the player (Kies is creating invalid ID3v2 tags).
The default "MPEG2 Program" video decoder Smart Play profile has been changed from DScaler to LAV as DScaler did not support dynamic aspect ratio changes with the EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer).
DirectShow filters with stored filter data bigger than 4096 bytes would not appear in the 'Registered Filter Manager' dialog (LAV Video for example).
When deleting a station from the station manager, the station name would not appear in the delete confirmation dialog.
Due to conflict with Real Player, the RealMedia decoder pack is no longer included in the Install Center and the RealMedia Smart Playprofiles have been modified to use LAV in its place.
Fixed a cosmetical glitch in the options dialog search results.

Zoom Player is a robust and very easy to use Media and DVD Front-End Player. Zoom Player was designed to be simple at first glance while being remarkably dynamic and flexible when used to its full potential. Zoom Player works in two modes.

A Media mode which can play any file supported by DirectShow (any file which plays in MediaPlayer) and a DVD mode which uses pre-installed DirectShow DVD filters to play DVD content. It supersedes media player in all it`s functions and provides several important functions that media player lacks.

Zoom Player provides special zooming functions to improve TV-Output quality by eliminating overscan.
