Even if you've never held a guitar in your hands, SCARBEE FUNK GUITARIST lets you channel the funk immediately. Using nothing but two fingers and a MIDI keyboard, you can jam and improvise for hours on end. Your right hand controls the groove – each groove preset consists of three basic riffs and multiple variations. Your left hand selects chords and velocity, with each key mapped to a specific chord. In each chord map, just hit the white keys, moving upwards from C to play authentic chord progressions, many based on classic funk tracks – this instrument pays its dues to a great funk tradition.

For building your own chord maps, the chord finder is a compendium of funk guitar chords and voicings. Just select the chord you want – regardless of whether you can play it or not. And if you’re comfortable with the keys, use automatic chord detection to build your own chord maps. Whatever chord you play is instantly added to a chord list, including voicing, top notes and alterations. Play a series of chords to create a mapping in seconds – perfect when you’re working with existing pieces. Every aspect of SCARBEE FUNK GUITARIST is editable. The groove editor lets you manipulate the individual elements of a groove, so you can remodel existing grooves or create your own phrases out of different articulations.

Clever algorithms handle the transitions between up and down strokes, mutes, hammer-ons and slides, to ensure that every groove sounds startlingly realistic. The same algorithms apply when you build grooves in the Groove Editor, providing a natural flow to your own custom riffs. Over a year in the making, SCARBEE FUNK GUITARIST is a breakthrough in guitar sampling. The construction process was incredibly detailed – 3411 chords, recorded in multiple velocities, up to 11 articulations, different playing positions and pickup settings, resulting in up to 152 samples per chord. The finished instrument sounds organic and genuinely funky – it’s almost impossible to hear the difference to the 'real thing'.

Created for both musical use and sound design, Fractured: Prepared Acoustic Guitar is an innovative new collection of instruments featuring creative and esoteric samples and manipulations of various acoustic guitars. Following the tradition begun by Violence, Vir2's virtual dismembering of a solo violin, Fractured features 2.3GB of compressed samples and more than one hundred new instruments with numerous variations and effects built into each. Each patch features the organic goodness of the acoustic guitar, but stretches its timbre in new directions to create previously unheard musical effects. Drum kits were made with mallets, fingernail scrapes, metal scrapes, cardboard scrapes and pouring rice over the guitar. Long evolving pads were built from acoustic guitar samples that blur the line between electronic and acoustic. Fractured also features playable and dynamic rhythmic loops and patterns, multitimbral arpeggiated creations, huge cinematic impacts, gritty electronic drums, gnarly and etherial melodic instruments, and more innovative sonic goodness.

Q (as in, cue, or, if you prefer, as in the master spy's gadget man), contains almost two thousand patches and 16GB of sample material including cinematically thunderous drums, percussion, winds, vocals, ethnic instruments, metallic textures, glass, guitar, toy, ambient atmospheres, synth landscapes, and trailer-ready effects. The library includes both playable melodic pitched instruments and multisampled one-shot percussion and effects. A large collection of epic percussion loops which automatically sync to tempo and are playable both whole and by the slice, are also included.

The AUTOHARP is a stringed instrument having a series of chord bars, when depressed, mute all the strings other than those that form the desired chord. Despite its name, the autoharp is not a harp – It´s a chorded zither. It´s a perfect instrument to give your music a subtile highlighted shape*.

As the name suggests “Bowed Guitars” is a collection of acoustic guitar and acoustic bass instruments played exclusively with a bow. By playing these instruments this way, you´ll get a special and unique string sound: intimate and intensive with slight organic scraping. The bass is available as an amped or a clean version. We used a Martin acoustic guitar and a Harley Benton acoustic bass.

The Celtic Nylon Harp is a small-sized harp with a height of nearly 39 inch (98 cm) and is usually designed for traditional music. The wooden instrument ranges in three octaves between C2 and C5 and has got 22 strings which are made of nylon and are plucked with the fingers. The harp has a lever close to the top of each string; when it is engaged, it shortens the string so its pitch is raised a semitone (sharped note if the string was a natural). The warm sound of the nylon strings is inspiring and adorable.

“Experimental Music” is the genus for a couple of music styles, which incorporate unorthodox and unique elements. The Experimental Box we offer focuses on aspects of glitch, minmal and noise music and gives you a full toolbox of ingredients for cacophony, dissonance, atonality, noise, glitch, machines, hum, and repetition. It is a wonderful assortment of highgly playable rhythms, ambients and instruments which are perfect for writing music in an experimental and minimalist way. Beyond this, the box is suitable for combination with atmospheric, ambient and cinematic music…or just to build a wild cacophony.

This is the second part of our successful experimental section: The “Experimental Box V2“. This time we focuses on objects and elements we found in a smithy of an artist blacksmith. We created a nice mishmash of highly playable rhythms, textures and instruments which are perfect for writing music in an experimental and minimalist way or giving your music a special character.

On string instruments, players can cause a string to vibrate only in sections by touching it lightly at the appropriate point. This can produce a pure and clear note of a cool, silvery quality. It is called ‘flageolet notes’ or ‘harmonics’.

The Kantele is a traditional plucked string instrument of the zitherfamily native to Finland and Estonia which, in turn, is part of the Baltic Psalteries instrument group. The KANTELE has a distinctive bell-like sound and diatonic tuning. Our Kantele has five strings tuned in G-A-B-C´and D´, but we made a Kontakt patch to play it in chromatic tuning*.

The Spieluhr (as known as musicbox) is a small instrument which produces sounds by the use of a set of pins placed on a rotating cylinder plucking the tuned teeth of a steel comb*. Our musicboxes are tiny with a size of 2,4 x 2 x 1?. The Glockenspiel is a percussion instrument, composed of a set of tuned metal bars resting over a frame like a trough. We used the legendary red children model of Hohner™ with a small range from C4 to F5.

Thanks to their high pitch, both instruments produce a very assertive and bright sound.

BASiS includes more than 7 gigabytes of the most diverse collection of basses available in the world of virtual instruments: classics like the Jazz Bass, P-Bass, Rickenbacker, and Musicman basses are presented alongside personality and genre tributes such as a classic Motown bass, a gospel bass, Jaco's Fretless, and Macca's Hofner. One upright bass and three slap basses are also included. In the synth bass category, more than a hundred patches are provided, ranging from thumping vintage synth basses to techno basses and esoteric fresh creations to spice up your tracks. Each instrument has been meticulously mastered and programmed for maximum musicality when placed in a mix.

All electric basses have been sampled from both the direct input (DI) and an amped perspective. A knob on the interface allows phase-aligned blending of the two, or the selection of one or the other. For the upright bass, the same knob allows mixing of the direct input and a phase-aligned tube mic output capture of the same sessions. Other onscreen controls allow pitch bend range adjustment, pick noise and fret noise controls, release layer controls, adjustable velocity curve, and instant and detailed control over EQ. A comprehensive selection of effects is included, including an octaver, compression, saturation, lo-fi, distortion, limiter, phaser, flanger, chorus, reverb, and delay.

Performance features include an innovative legato tool designed for true finger-smooth playing, and a customizable vibrato engine with control over vibrato types, speeds, and depths. Rather than opting for traditional LFO-based vibrato, BASiS uses a sophisticated character vibrato modeled after real bass players, completely controllable from the keyboard and onscreen interface. Randomized pick noises, release samples, and fret noises add to the realism of each instrument. Combining all of these innovative features into one virtual instrument, the end result is a versatile, varied, and intuitively playable library of the finest low-end instruments in the world.
