Some convenient features, such as the System Restore Point Manager, have been added.Consit takes a little more work to see the details of what is being cleaned - in the registry, temp-files, etc. But that is minor.SummaryThis can be used as a standalone optimization and cleaning tool - or in conjunction with other like tools. The System Restore Point Manager, that addition I have found quite useful. It will even delete the most recent Restore Point - which normally is greyed out and undeletable in CCleaner and similar utilities. The modules from past versions of Win-Optimizer are continued in this new version. The optimization speed seems noticeably improved. The Live-Tuner feature is more intuitive in this interface; and very easy to turn on and off. Defragmentation can be manual or proactive. The proactive feature works very well and eliminates the need for other defragmentation tools if the user so wishes. Normally I only use the one-click-optimiser. A save and fast cleaning option. It also scans the registry.
It won't repair all registryproblems, but its safe.
In all those years no instabilities or bugs detected - one exception, see below.Consannoying advertising ashampoo products.
a couple of times there was an instability of the interface (not the program itself).

However, the user-interface is slick & well-crafted.ConsI have thoroughly Tested Several Windows Optimizer Programs -- Including System Mechanic, AdvancedSystemCare, WinOptimizer, BoostSpeed, & CCleaner. Immediately after installing Ashampoo WinOptimizer -- and Clicking on its "One-Click Optimizer" my Cursor started Vibrating horribly when it was in ANY dialog box. I restarted Windows & Closed All Software, but the Cursor remained UN-Stable. Thank God, I had FORTUNATELY backed up my Registry before I installed WinOptimizer: When I Restored the Windows Registry my Cursor was perfectly Stable.SummaryI believe Ashampoo WinOptimizer has a Terrible Bug that made my System UN-Stable. I feel very Fortunate that I had Backed Up my Registry prior to installing WinOptimizer, because I was able to Restore Stability to my System.
There are plenty of Other _SAFE_ Optimizers available--Including Iolo System Mechanic (my favorite), and of course CCleaner.
Your Mileage May Vary, but I am SOOO Glad that I had backed up my Registry PRIOR to installing Ashampoo WinOptimizer!!
P.S.: The Excellent Registry Backup Tool I had used that saved the day was ALSO part of System Mechanic -- Under its "Individual Tools". I can heartily Recommend CCleaner AND Iolo System Mechanic. Please, for your safety, be very careful when installing a Registry Cleaner . . . Yes, they CAN help; but you must choose carefully!!
