"I would recommend this software..."

April 30, 2011  |   By ricardokitkat

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 4.5

Pros

saved me 42.6 gigs of redundant files on my externat drive!

Cons

It could be more easy to use, if a more step by step instruction was included with this program and or maybe the option to buy a disc of it with directions would have helped.

Summary

I am happy with this softwares peformance overall, it would have taken me years to sort out my duplicate files... I would recommend this this program to my novist computer geek friends and the experts..now if they offered the disk it would be better for all....

"Intuitive gui, great performances, no multi-language"

March 21, 2010  |   By jovo_dodik

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 4.2

Pros

Delete Duplicate Files has a very intuitive interface and just great performances.
Third strength of this program is it?s variety of options. It allows us to define comparison criteria, make custom filters, schedule automatic scans and more.

Cons

There is no multi-language support. Manual is outdated.

"Not a usable version"

February 4, 2010  |   By jgluvers

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 4.2

Pros

No pros here, this version is only a sales tool.

Cons

this version is not compatable with the earlier version and is not an upgrade.

Summary

When I downloaded this program, thinking that it was an update to the version that I had paid for a couple of years ago, It would not let me put in my registration number and not work at all as the version that it replaced. When I contacted the program owner he sent me to another download saying that my old program was too lod for the new update.. Well the update that he sent me to was not near as good as the first one that I had PAID for and now is no longer available.. Not happy

"Do NOT buy this product!!!!!!"

January 31, 2010  |   By LynnGerhart

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 4.2

Pros

Was so angry with the service, I didn't even use it

Cons

EVERYTHING - IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT, AFTER YOU PAID FOR IT

Summary

TOTALLY USELESS -- It claims it is free, until you do your scan, then it won't delete files until you pay. Fine. But then they sent the registrations *** 8 1/2 hours *** after it was paid for. Who waits that long for an ELECTRONIC registration??! When I had no choice to download another program, that was available immediately, they refused to refund my money.

October 28, 2009  |   By 5old13r

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 3.7

Pros

free, small, simple

Cons

It failed to do anything. duplicate song names had numbers after them and it thought they were different files

Summary

It didn't get a single duplicate file in my music library even though multiples were right next to each other with a number stuck on the end of each name.

August 1, 2009  |   By obriguy

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 3.5

Pros

I don't know b/c it didn't work unless I pay.

Cons

Features disabled are deleting files...what you are looking for. Should say that the features disabled are the only ones you want (delete/move).

"Fraudulent"

January 10, 2009  |   By derigo38

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 3.1

Pros

Nothing. Look elsewhere.

Cons

Got msg that unlock code would be delivered w/i 48 hours. Needed it then--advertised as instantaneous download. Waited 2 hours. Nothing. Other email came in so it was not my link. LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Summary

Strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Refunds not honored. Fraudelent advertisement.
Downloaded demo. Demo does not let u clean thumb drives--only certain c: folders. Figured it was demo restriction. Purchased product. Got msg that unlock code would be delivered w/i 48 hours. Needed it then--advertised as instantaneous download. Waited 2 hours. Nothing. Other email came in so it was not my link. Bought Duplicate Finder (R) instead. Instantaneous download/worked great. Politely requested E-gadget refund given delivery delays--declined even though ad never says u may not get to use product for 48 hours. Filing BB complaint and trying to force a PayPal refund.

July 24, 2008  |   By adrian.77

Version: Delete Duplicate Files 2.4

Pros

It's ease and simplicity

Cons

Nothing. By the way, I listened to your boss on Radio 5 Wake up to Money programme this morning and wasn't he eloquent about the downloading of music files and the furore with the ISP's.

Files

by: Chris Page on July 23, 2013

Files for Mac aims to ease file management in OS X by giving users a dual pane interface. While fast, smooth, and with a small memory footprint, this file manager could use some improvements when it comes to ease of use.

Opening Files for Mac for the first time, we were presented with an intuitive, but inelegant, interface, which displayed different folders in each windowpane. Each pane included a "Go To" drop-down menu, enabling quick and easy access to all the main folders in a user's home folder. It became clear very quickly that this file manager doesn't adhere to any of the OS X interface standards. While there are no thumbnail previews, full-size previews are available by pressing "F3" and not the spacebar, as it works in Finder, and this is only one of the many shortcuts that differ from what you're probably used to. There is no right-click or CTRL-click context menu at all. And, most baffling, you cannot drag and drop files from one side of the window to the other, which is the most basic and intuitive aspect of file management on the Mac since 1984. To move a file you must also, confusingly, hit F6 and rename it to another folder. Now, all of the shortcut confusion aside, the app works well, but we didn't find much to woo us away from the built-in tool.

Files for Mac aims to improve on the OS X's Finder, but could use some improvements, itself, such as adding a drag-and-drop option for a more convenient transfer. However, users who prefer minimalistic interfaces might like this file manager.

Files is a modern file manager designed specifically for Mac computers. It is built with efficiency in mind, providing the blazing performance and momentary user interface feedback. On other hand, Files exploits the classic dual-pane ideology and traditional hotkeys layout, while maintaining minimalistic and clean UI design.

Features:
- Classic dual-pane interface: Files delivers full keyboard access with the fastest way to handle file management tasks.
- Efficiency: Files starts almost instantly. It has small memory footprint and it works blazingly fast.
- Uninterrupted experience: Most of the Files' work is done in background, allowing users to focus on their tasks without unnecessary interruptions.
-Built-in file attributes editor and file viewer with textual/hexadecimal presentation.
