"Don't get fooled by this company!"

December 3, 2012  |   By neartheredrocks

Version: Easy Translator 7.0.2

Pros

There's nothing good about this piece of crap.

Cons

I'm surprised that Cnet gives such a piece of software - which actually should be considered malware - a stage.

This software is nothing but a "mini browser", using Google's and Bing's translation engines. One needs to be online in order to use it which makes it idiotic to use it because one could also use the respective pages of Google and Bing directly. To charge $80 for such nonsense is more than outrageous.

Moreover, Cnet lists Lmhsoft as the "develeoper" which is simply wrong. The "developer" of this crap is an anonymous entity by the name acetools.net.

"Easy to translate any language"

February 5, 2011  |   By spmneworleans

Version: Easy Translator 5.4

Pros

Copy and paste what you need translated. Really simple to use. Translation is correct for most languages.

Cons

Sometimes the translation is not correct and does not make sense. there is no way to introduce new words into it so it will learn.

Summary

Overall, a great software if you need something more than just one line translated.

"It's far to be perfect, but it helps enormous,"

December 5, 2010  |   By Erich Pohoralek

Version: Easy Translator 5.3

Pros

When you have a certain knowledge of the language you try to translate into, it's a real help. It performs also with correct accents, so some can work with copy/paste and arrange nonsense after

Cons

Some translations are really making LOL!

"Does not support customers for upgrades"

December 14, 2009  |   By astrodime

Version: Easy Translator 4.1

Pros

I thought it was ok but a little buggy for translating phrases. Usually I use google for that or babelfish (online) but i wanted something for my computer. That's why i got it.

Cons

It stopped working so I decided to download it. I downloaded a later version and it wanted me to buy it all over again. Bad customer support :-(

Summary

Don't bother. I wish there was something else on the market that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Oh well I guess i'll go online.

"Existence of new version wrecks your older version."

November 22, 2009  |   By JMcE56

Version: Easy Translator 4.1

Pros

Reasonable good translator if you keep your original sentences short and simple.

Cons

Shortly after the inevitable offer to "upgrade" began appearing on my ET V3 software, it became unusable because several strings of meta data were suddenly added to each translated sentence.

Summary

The developer shouldn't be trusted to support its software. It basically sabotaged my existing application in hopes of selling me the new version. Spend $60.00 today and maybe it will work for a year and maybe it won't, all subject to the whim of the developer. An e-mail to the developer asking what happened gets this reply: "The real cause of the problem: the language translation engines now switched to a new format, which is not supported in old versions."
I've had mine for less than a year and I'm going Google.

"Useless product"

April 14, 2009  |   By Barton Fink

Version: Easy Translator 3.1.3

Pros

Integrates 41 international languages.

Cons

This app does nothing but submit language pair requests to Google translate. It looks as if it was programmed by a beginner following a tutorial out of a book. It might be blocked at any time if you use it too much, since Google uses rate limiting.
